Supporting the arts has always been our mission. We host exhibitions, performances, classes, art and gift markets, and many other cultural activities. Supporting the arts in the West Central Illinois region enriches us all. We aim to continue to provide opportunities for performance and visual artists to have a place to network with their peers, hone their craft, and provide a venue to inspire others. But we can’t do it alone. Please consider becoming a member and help us keep serving our region. Thanks!

The Battle is on! We have 14 fun and fantastic artists participating in this year’s Battle of the Brushes fundraising event. They are: Bethany Barr, Dustin Berg – Shelter Insurance Agent, Ray Bunch, Kaitlin Findley, Julie Fiscella (who is Ray Bunch’s daughter—nothing like a little friendly father/daughter competition!), Jeannie Galioto, David Garrison (winner of the 2019 Battle and pictured here), Steven House (winner of the 2018 Battle), Adam Kozlowski, Lindsay Moore, Sam Myerson, Kevin Nichols, Jan Rockwell, and Josh Wroblewski.

Come support your favorite artist and Macomb Arts Center! Proceeds support the programs and events of the MAC, including 8-10 free art exhibits annually, Rising Stars youth theatre experience, plays, concerts, and more.

“The Things we Treasure” ( January 28-February 29)

There’s still time to include one of your favorite pieces of art in our upcoming exhibit “The Things We Treasure,” which will display original artwork from private collections. The deadline for submissions is Saturday, January 18, 2020 and the only stipulation is that the piece must not be done by the contributor. If you would like to share something you purchased, received as a gift, inherited, etc., please email the following to gallery@wciarts.org:

1) A written narrative about the piece (approximately 250 words or less). In your narrative you might discuss the significance of the artwork, tell a story about the piece, and/or explain why you like it, how you came to own it, etc.
2) The title, artist, and medium of the artwork (as much as is known)
3) Your name and the town you live in

Plan to deliver your work to the gallery Sunday, January 26 at 2:00pm and to pick it up Sunday March 1 at 2:00pm. (Arrangements may be made for different times if necessary.)

Call for volunteers

We are currently looking to expand our pool of gallery hosts. Gallery hosts greet visitors, sell artwork and record the number of visitors during open gallery hours. Generally the shifts are 2 to 3 hours. Hosts can bring a book, artwork, or homework to work on during their shift or clean or do projects for the Arts Center. We would love to have volunteers who can commit to volunteering regularly, but if you can only volunteer occasionally we would appreciate it! If you are interested, please send an email to contact@wciarts.org and we will add you to the volunteer list.
